This is a great opportunity to work with Jake Pegg; He is
my mentor and the godfather of Batucobre.

This is Jake, son of Barry Pegg (caixa.)
I've come back to Houghton to visit for a few weeks from
Portland, Oregon,
where I've been studying, teaching, and performing
primarily Brazilian
drumming for the last ten years or so.
I'm writing to offer group or individual lessons to anyone
who's interested.
We’ll work on individual needs like:
- Making a good, characteristic sound on the instrument
- Foundational skills like steady beat and syncopation that
are as necessary
as they are rarely mentioned
I won't include my bio, but I think it's worth mentioning
that I've studied
and traveled in Brazil and the US, and combine a deep
understanding of what
makes Brazilian rhythm so great with formal training as a
music educator.
Individual lessons are $25 for an hour. Groups are $15 per,
fee capped at 4
people.

The Batucobre Samba Band is based in Houghton, Michigan. We
play authentic Brazilian Samba in parades and shows
throughout the summer.
No experience is necessary, just a love for rhythm.
Beginners are welcome,
Experienced drummers will find something new to challenge
them
Practices are Thursdays,
7:30 - 9:00pm at the Rosza Band Room , room 206
